Youth footballers from Pakistan qualify for Street Children World Cup

ISLAMABAD: 21 April 2018: The Trunkwala Family’s initiative to revive football in Pakistan is set to enter another unprecedented stage as Leisure Leagues gears up for its first ever IntraCity Championship matches in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
This weekend, teams from Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi will be competing in a bid to get one step closer to realizing their dream to represent Pakistan at the International Socca Federation World Cup which will take place in Portugal’s capital, Lisbon, later this year.
Winners from the Intra City Championships in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad will participate in the National Championships in Karachi where the winning team would then don the colors of Pakistan.
Speaking ahead of the kickoff, World Group chairman, Mr. Mehmood Trunkwala said that Leisure Leagues is keen on giving unique opportunities to thousands of youngster in Pakistan and is excited at the prospect of seeing players represent the country.
“We have been working day and night to help football grow in the country. The IntraCity Championship and the Nationals are going to define the future of small-sided football in Pakistan and I’m confident that whichever team wins the nationals, will go on and represent our beautiful country with pride and honor.
Matches in Islamabad will take place at Total Football Ayub Park, Ansar Union will be the place to be in Karachi while in Lahore, the venue will be Stadium.
