Young Pakistani nominated for CYC’s Asia Regional Representative

CYC General Assembly will meet in April 2018 in London at the sidelines of CHOGM

The future of the Commonwealth depends on its one billion young people. The Commonwealth Youth Forum provides an opportunity for the young people of the Commonwealth to build cross-cultural connections and networks, debate the challenges facing its young people, and agree youth-lead initiatives to influence decision makers and ensure young people have a voice in its future. The agenda for the Commonwealth Youth Forum is developed by an International Taskforce, made up of young leaders from across the Commonwealth, working in partnership with the Commonwealth Youth Council (CYC). The Youth Forum also incorporates the CYC General Assembly and elections.

Mr. Qasim Farasat has been nominated as Asia Regional Representative of Commonwealth Youth Council (CYC). He will be representing young people of Pakistan at the 11th Commonwealth Youth Forum of The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting – 2018 in London, UK. Mr. Qasim is an active young leader and working with Youth Advocacy Network (YAN) Pakistan. The elections will take place as part of the CYC General Assembly, during the CYF in London from 16th -18th April 2018. Despite being one of the highest funder to CYC, non of Pakistani youth has been elected to this youth body. Therefor Government of Pakistan should support the nominations from Pakistan.
